About Demomara Dolls
I create dark dolls and I draw my inspiration from dark music, dark literature, dark art, horror themes, the occult, and other worldly characters. I really enjoy and appreciate other artists that bring into manifestation their dark creations. It is definitely my muse. I work on my dolls in my spare time for no other reason other than I enjoy working on dark art. Each doll is painted by hand and all of the hair and clothing are also done by hand. The hair is made from wool and alpaca fleece Each weft is created by hand by me. I hand sew all of the clothing and on some of the pieces I re-dye fabrics to get exact colors. I sculpt various pieces from modeling clay for use in my dolls and hand sand each piece. When each doll is finally finished I enjoy adding accessories like chains, bells, various semi-precious stones, and fresh water pearls. I am slowly in the process of taking photos of more of my dolls. Because each doll is created by hand as an art piece there are minor defects. As an Artist I am the most critical of my own work but to me each one is unique and beautiful. I hope to continue to learn and perfect my techniques.
